HML Recycling, the Hyndburn-based modern metal recycling experts, have donated £5,000 to sponsor new wicket covers at Oswaldtwistle Immanuel Church Cricket Club.

O.I.C.C.C are members of the North West Cricket League and were Ribblesdale League Champions in 2018. They pride themselves on being a friendly, sociable and inclusive cricket club, with a number of teams at both youth and senior level.

The long-term sponsorship deal which will last the lifetime of the wicket covers, continues HML Recyling’s objective of giving back to the local community, which has seen them sponsor many local charities, sports clubs and community projects over the years including Maundy Relief and the RSPCA.

As stand sponsors at Accrington Stanley’s Wham Stadium, HML Recycling also generously donated £5,000 to the Official Accrington Stanley Supporters Trust in April 2021.

Stuart Rogan, Managing Director of HML Recycling, said: “One of the best things we do here at HML Recycling is supporting our local community and giving a percentage of our profits to local worthy causes throughout the year.

“We were delighted to come in and support a fantastic community club in Oswaldtwistle Immanuel Church Cricket Club, and it is great to see the new wicket covers in action.”

Gerard Metcalf, Chairman of Oswaldtwistle Immanuel Church Cricket Club, commented: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Stuart and the team at HML Recycling for this extremely generous donation. It is a vital facility for our club and we will allow us to continue going from strength to strength.”

Stephen Lowe, BBC Radio Lancashire presenter and whose son Oliver plays for the Club, added: “Oswaldtwistle Immanuel Church Cricket Club is a wonderful grassroots club and is a fantastic home for developing younger players. My son Oli recently hit his first 50 in senior cricket at the age of 15, and that is down to the incredible set up that we have here at O.I.C.C.C and it is donations from companies like HML Recycling that make it happen.”

HML have been established for over 50 years and are industry leaders, and category experts. They excel on duty of care and environmental legislation, and are licensed brokers, with a long history of turning scrap metal into charitable donations.
